A statement condemning the calls of lifting Caesar sanctions on the syrian regime under the pretext of the earthquake

In the past hours, calls have been made to lift international sanctions on the Syrian regime, taking advantage of the difficult humanitarian situation. these calls are from organisations that do not have sufficient experience in the Syrian issue, and are not aware of what is happening on the ground, by stealing aid and deluding people that international sanctions and the Caesar Act, are responsible for making the disaster worse !. as we know the sanctions and caesar act are against personalities in the regime and its military machine, and as we have seen earlier this machine buried millions of Syrians under the rubble of their homes for many years. Now these false calls or by being pushed by Al Assad allies to put the blame on the sanctions!. Note that the many testimonies received on social media confirm the theft of aid and the regime’s exploitation of the crisis with the aim of increasing repression and domination and achieving political gains that extend its life.

The Syrian civil movement reiterates its emphasis on increasing sanctions, making them more effective and stringent, and activating accountability mechanisms for crimes against humanity and chemical attacks committed in Syria. The Syrian civil movement calls on the helping countries to try to deliver aid through neutral channels and organizations far from the hands of the regime.
